The Neville Group of Companies are an age-friendly employer, having signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge run by the Centre for Ageing Better in 2023. This commitment reflects our efforts to enhance the recruitment, retention, and development of employees aged 50 and over.

This summer, during our 150th anniversary celebrations, we recognised several team members with awards. Notably, 7 out of the 15 award winners were over the age of 50. We believe it is crucial to support and provide opportunities to all staff, regardless of age, especially since the Centre for Ageing Better's 2025 Ageing Summary reports that 1 in 5 people have missed out on work opportunities after turning 50.

One of our award winners, Fleet Manager Dave Taylor, who has worked for The Neville Group of Companies for over 40 years since starting as an apprentice commented on the evolving nature of technology in his role and the support he receives from the company: “[The company] is very good at giving training, if ever in the workshop I say I think we need this bit of training for this, or I say I’m not sure about this, it’s always, 'yep do it.”

In addition to being an age-friendly employer, we are also striving to become a dementia-friendly organisation. This involves understanding dementia, making reasonable adjustments in the workplace, and promoting open communication and support for those affected.
