Supporting Our People: Neville Trust’s Partnership with Togetherall

At Neville Trust, looking after the people means supporting their wellbeing as well as their working lives.
Across Neville Trust, Neville Special Projects, Neville Joinery and Neville Funerals, teams work in very different environments and roles. Whether someone is working on a construction site, in a joinery workshop, supporting families through bereavement, or working within central support teams, Neville recognises that everyone can experience times when they need some additional support.
That is why Togetherall forms an important part of the mental health and wellbeing support available to colleagues throughout the Neville Trust Group of Companies.
Togetherall is a safe, anonymous online community where people can talk about how they are feeling, connect with others experiencing similar challenges and access resources to help them manage their mental wellbeing. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the community is overseen by licensed mental health professionals.
For Neville, that accessibility is particularly important. Not all employees work conventional office hours. Some work on construction sites, others in the workshop, while colleagues within Neville Funerals provide services to families at all hours. Mental health support therefore needs to be available when people need it – not simply during the working day.
Part of a wider network of support
Togetherall does not sit in isolation.
It complements the network of trained Mental Health First Aiders we have developed across the Neville Group, giving colleagues different ways to seek support according to what feels right for them.
The Mental Health First Aiders at the Neville Trust Group of Companies provide a friendly and approachable first point of contact within the workplace. They are there to listen without judgement, offer reassurance and, where appropriate, signpost colleagues towards further sources of help.
Togetherall provides another option – particularly for someone who might initially feel more comfortable seeking support anonymously, outside work or at a time when a colleague or Mental Health First Aider isn't immediately available
.
Teams are regularly reminded that these resources are available. From conversations and activities around World Mental Health Day to wellbeing initiatives across all Neville businesses, the business want mental health to remain part of everyday conversation rather than something only discussed when somebody reaches crisis point.
Supporting everyone across the Group
One of the strengths of being a diverse family group is that Neville colleagues span different professions, ages, backgrounds and working environments. That also means there cannot be a one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing.
The pressures faced by somebody working within construction may be different from those experienced by someone supporting a bereaved family. Someone working in a workshop may prefer to speak face-to-face with a Mental Health First Aiders, while another person may prefer the anonymity of Togetherall.
What matters is that people have choices.
The aim at Neville is to create a culture in which asking for help is seen as a positive step and where each individual knows that support is available before a problem becomes overwhelming.
Togetherall, the Neville Mental Health First Aiders and the mental health resources available through the Neville Trust website are all part of that commitment.
Vicky Trumper, Group Director comments: “As a family business with more than 150 years of history, we have always believed that the strength of their businesses comes from the people within them. Supporting their wellbeing is therefore not an initiative for one particular day or month of the year – it is part of how we want to look after our people every day.”
Need support?
Neville Group colleagues can access Togetherall confidentially at any time and can also speak to one of their allocated Mental Health First Aiders.
